Restaurant Review: Red Chinese Restaurant & Lounge

Hey guys! How are you? I have a Restaurant review for you today!

After the Beauty Africa Exhibition, my cousin, her friend and I decided to try out one of the restaurants at Eko Hotel before heading home. We checked EatDrinkLagos for the closest restaurants and we saw that CrossRoads was in Eko Hotel. They were still closed though so we went to Red Chinese instead.

Look how beautiful it is :D

When I saw it, I thought of having my birthday there before I got my surprise lol. I think it would be perfect for a small birthday dinner or just a date.

We got the Red Chinese Seafood Special and the Vermicelli Noodles with beef. They both tasted so good even though I especially loved the Vermicelli Noodles.

The staff was very polite and quite helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. We also didn't have to wait too long for the food which made us really happy because of how hungry we were.

The large Seafood Special and the noodles cost about N3,600 each.

I'd definitely go back there again :)

Red Chinese Restaurant is at Eko Hotels & Suites at 1415 Adetokunbo Ademola Street, VI. It's open Tuesdays-Sundays for lunch from 12pm-6pm and Dinner from 6pm - 10pm.

2015 Beauty Africa Exhibition

Hey guys! How have you been? I attended the Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conference 2015 about 3 weeks ago and I've been meaning to do a post on it for a while now.

The Beauty Africa Exhibition & Conference took place at Eko Convention Centre over 3 days, between the 7th and 9th of October.

I went on the first day with my cousin, Ibiyemi and her friend OJ. There were live demonstrations, panel discussions and a lot of shopping. I was really looking forward to the live demonstrations and shopping.

There were 2 rooms with different activities going on at the same time. I walked around a bit before watching a live demonstration by Bimpe Onakoya, who is the artistic director of Maybelline New York, Nigeria.

There was also a Nectar Nail Art Competition.

We also wanted to see a live demonstration of a smokey eye in the 2nd room but they didn't keep to time. They were about an hour behind schedule and we were tired of waiting so we went to eat instead.

The highlight for me were these cute soaps made by Luxe Beauty Lounge. They're so pretty and they would make the perfect gifts. They would also be really good Bridal shower favours and they smell so good.

Have a lovely week guys!!

Life Lately: Birthday, Blog Anniversary & NYSC Passing Out

Hey guys!! From my title you can see that there's been a lot going on with me.

This past week has been so busy! I turned 23 on Monday and my blog also turned 1 on Monday. Before my actual birthday though, I got a surprise birthday dinner!

Last Saturday, my cousin and I went for the launch of a collection at Temple Muse and she had suggested that we go somewhere for drinks after. So, we went to RSVP after and this was my face when everyone shouted 'Surprise!!' lol.

I've always wanted a surprise birthday so I was so happy and I think I was in shock for a bit. My cousin and my friend from Abuja also came so I was really happy and I felt so special :'). I was still smiling the next day. That's how happy I was.

On Monday, which was my actual birthday, I stayed at home. I wasn't stressed anymore about what to do for my birthday since I already had my birthday dinner and few of my friends and cousins came to visit.

My blog turned 1 on Monday! I can't believe it's actually been a year since I started blogging. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to blog about when I started and I wasn't even sure I would be good at it.

Blogging has taught me a lot of things like consistency (which I'm still working on) and I've met a lot of people through blogging. Blogging also makes me happy and I always feel so productive whenever I blog :) Maybe I should do a separate post on my 1 year Blog Anniversary and a giveaway.

Thank you to everyone who reads my blog, shares my posts, leaves comments and the people who send me private messages encouraging me. You guys are the best!

On Thursday, I passed out of NYSC!!!! This year just went by so fast! I don't have to wear khaki and orange boots anymore or go for cds on Thursdays. It's going to be a bit hard transitioning from getting days off on Thursday to working everyday but at least no more NYSC for me! :D

Yesterday, I went for Afropolitan Vibes and Burna boy performed. I felt like I saw people I knew every 5 seconds and Freedom Park was packed! It was fun though.

What have you guys been up to lately?

Cafe Neo

Hey guys! How's it going? Looking forward to the weekend?

Last Saturday I met up with my cousin at Cafe Neo. I had heard a lot about it and from the pictures I had seen it looked like a really nice place.

It's a small, cosy space and I like how you can just go there with your laptop and chill and get some work done (like my cousin did).

I had a Ham & Cheese Panini and flavoured tea (Mango & Strawberry) which were both really good.

I would definitely go back again and again and I heard they're opening other branches on the mainland soon.

Cafe Neo is at 16 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos,

Have a beautiful weekend guys!

Birthday Wishlist

Hey guys! My birthday is in exactly a week and it has motivated me to write my first Wishlist :). This is a list of some of the things I've wanted for a while:

1. MacBook Air

I've had the same laptop for almost 4 years and it has crashed more times than I can remember. I hope to get a new one soon because I really need it.

2. Canon Camera

I need a camera. I had a small Sony camera that I used to take pictures for my blog but it got stolen. I also hope to get a new camera soon.

3. Perfume

Okay I want Coco Chanel to be precise :). I really love this particular one.

4. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Pallette

Look at those colours. So prettyy! I have my eye (no pun intended) on this eye shadow pallette though it's a bit pricy.

5. Mac Lipsticks

You can never have too many Mac lipsticks. I want to get Sin and Pink Plaid.

6. Mak Nisy Bag

7. Spa Treatment at Oriki Group Spa

What I Did Last Weekend

Hey people!! How was your weekend?

On Friday, I finally washed my makeup brushes. You can read how I wash my makeup brushes and what I use here.

On Saturday, I did the makeup  for a photoshoot. Photographer, Toyosi Farida Kekere-Ekun was looking for a makeup artist for a photoshoot and the lovely Detuke of Tuke's Quest recommended me. Once I get the professional pictures, I'll do a post on it to show you guys :)

After the shoot, I met up with my cousin at Cafe Neo. This was my first time there even though I had heard about it a number of times.

I had a good time there and I'll definitely do a detailed review on it sometime this week so be on the lookout for that ;)

On Sunday, Ekene invited me to Tasteoff Lagos at Muri Okunola Park and  I was excited to go to a Food Festival. It rained for hours so we couldn't leave early.

There were so many food vendors there and the park looked so pretty. I had a hard time deciding what to eat and by the time we had walked around a lot of the options were gone. I ended up just having chicken and chips. How boring right?

Ekene & I wanted to have this but it had finished :(

Hans & Rene was there too and of course there were a lot of people at their stand. Ekene had Salted Caramel and The Hans & Rene Special.

After Tasteoff Lagos, we went to the 5th Lights Camera Africa Film Festival at Federal Palace Hotel. We watched part of one movie and we were supposed to see 'Timbuktu'. Unfortunately, they were having technical difficulties and we had to leave because it was already a bit late.

What did you get up to last weekend?

Have a nice week!
