5 Fruits for Healthy Skin



Hey guys! How's it going? Hope you're enjoying your Easter Break!

We all know that fruits are good for us but certain fruits are really good for maintaining healthy, radiant skin and some fruits even help with clearing blemishes. I've been slacking when it comes to eating fruits and if you have, here's some motivation for achieving healthy, glowing skin.

1. Bananas

Bananas are a good source of Magnesium and Potassium and they hydrate and moisturise skin. They are also rich in Vitamin A, B, C & E. Vitamin A helps fade dark spots and the Vitamin E protects skin from sun damage. Bananas also work as an anti-ageing agent. You can also use it as a face mask for moisturising your skin.

2. Lemon

Lemon is rich in Vitamin C and it helps fade dark spots and blemishes. Drinking a glass of water with a little lemon and honey in the morning helps in cleansing your skin naturally.

3. Oranges

Oranges are packed with Vitamin C and I can attest to the fact that they actually help in achieving radiant skin. Oranges also help in clearing skin blemishes and they can be used for exfoliating skin. Some people dry the orange peels, crush them into powder and use it as an exfoliator but that sounds like a lot of work to me.

4. Apples 

Apples are high in Vitamin C and aid in the production of collagen, which is a protein found abundantly in skin. Apples are also high in antioxidants and help prevent cell and tissue damage. They are also rich in fibre and help in cleansing your system.

5. Papaya 

Papaya is rich in antioxidants and it contains an enzyme called 'papain' that helps in healing damaged skin by speeding up skin regeneration. It also helps in getting rid of skin impurities and  can be used as a face mask.

For the next month, I'm going to try and have at least one of these fruits everyday and I hope you join me :D

Don't forget to drink lots of Water while you're at it!

  1. My issue with fruits is the sugar content.

    Its a delicate balance between the benefits and the costs.

    I'm surprised you didn't mention

    - Strawberries and
    - Kiwis

    1. Yeah I get what you mean about the sugar content but it definitely has more benefits than costs.
      I didn't mention strawberries and kiwis because they're a bit hard to find in Nigeria and they're not as cheap as the fruits I mentioned.
